Following the succesful camp of 2022, the summer of 2023 the Imagine Peace Juniors Camp will be even more exciting, fun and special!
The Imagine Peace Juniors Camp is an innovative camp, designed for children and teenagers 10 to 16 years old coming from all over the world and organized by the International Olympic Truce Centre in collaboration with SPORTCAMP, under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture & Sport- General Secretariat of Sports, the Ministry of Migration & Asylum, the Perfecture of Western Greece, the International Olympic Academy, the Hellenic Olympic Winners Association, the Municipality of Ancient Olympia and the University of Peloponnese.
Through this unique opportunity participants have the chance to practice ancient sports, learn about the notion of the Olympic Truce and explore how its values can influence daily life and behavior. The participants will experience activities according to their age category: Juniors aged 10-12 and Teens aged 13-16.
The program consists of FIVE MAIN PILLARS: Ancient Greek sports, Olympic Truce Ideals, Respecting Diversity, Leadership Skills and Friendship.
The organizers are the International Olympic Truce Center & Sportcamp Youth Sports Training Center and is realized at the premises of the International Olympic Academy in Ancient Olympia.

The Experiential and Educational program IMAGINE PEACE JUNIORS CAMP offers the unique opportunity for children & teenagers to experience and understand the meaning of Olympism through sports and the education of Olympic Values.

This program is a unique opportunity for young people from all over the world to socialize with each other, with the aim of promoting sports in order to strengthen equality and peace.
Its ultimate purpose is to investigate the universality and importance of Olympic Values, the "connection" of sports and peace and the highlighting of the appropriate paths, so that the meaning and implications of the Olympic Truce become part of everyday life.
Participants learn about the cultural richness of the region & the history of the Olympic Games, coexist with people of different cultures, backgrounds & ideologies and familiarize with the importance of diversity, the "special" and "unique" that all people represent. They realize that we share common concerns and dreams for a better, peaceful world.
Team spirit, ingenuity, passion, cooperation and commitment, are essential ingredients for building truce and peace against discriminations and conflicts.

In the summer of '22, I participated in this educational and fun program as a Paralympic athlete where, together with highly qualified teachers, I was able to convey to our young friends-participants, the Paralympic & Olympic values & the meaning of the Olympic Truce. By talking with them and describing my athletic journey, they were given the opportunity to understand the value of respect for diversity through disability.
I won’t forget the promise-wish I made: to be present in this historic place of the Olympic Academy premises again!
