The Annual Conference of the European Platform for Sports Innovation (EPSI), under the auspices of the International Olympic Academy (IOA), was successfully co-organized by EPSI and SPORTCAMP Group, highlighting SPORTCAMP's commitment to promoting innovation and excellence in sports. The conference was hosted at the IOA facilities from October 7 to October 10, 2024, providing valuable networking and knowledge-sharing opportunities for participants.
The conference opened with the EPSI General Assembly, where Co-Directors Alberto Bichi and René Wijlens, along with EPSI staff, presented the results and achievements of the past year.
This year’s EPSI Conference focused on Olympic Values and Sports Innovation, exploring how sports innovation intertwines with core values such as excellence, respect, and friendship.
During the opening of Session 2 (inspirational keynote speeches), Dr. Nikos Houtas, representing IOA President Isidoros Kouvelos and a member of IOA’s Education Department, introduced attendees to the extensive and multifaceted activities of the IOA and delved into the content of the IOA’s innovative educational programs.
In the same session, Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance Christos Dimas addressed the conference participants on topics related to economics, sports innovation, and best practices implemented by the Greek government.
The conference gathered 150 EPSI members and several online guests who exchanged ideas on best practices for promoting new business partnerships and new ideas for European programs.
The conference program was enriched with activities such as visits to the archaeological site and the ancient stadium of Ancient Olympia, a visit to the Pierre de Coubertin grove, and a simulation of the ancient Olympic Games, where participants actively engaged in various sports and ceremonies of antiquity.
As co-organizer of this important conference, SPORTCAMP Group once again confirms its leading role in the development and promotion of sports innovation.
