From May 24 to 29, 2024, the facilities of the Municipality of Loutraki-Perachora-Agioi Theodoroi and SPORTCAMP sports center will host the National Special Olympics Games Loutraki 2024 Games, sending a strong message of optimism, fair play, and inclusion!
The National Special Olympics Games Loutraki 2024 will welcome over 400 athletes with intellectual disabilities, along with their companions, coaches, volunteers, and Special Olympics partners, not only from all over Greece but also from Cyprus, Hungary, and Ukraine. They will compete at SPORTCAMP facilities and the Municipality of Loutraki-Perachora-Agioi Theodoroi in Athletics, Swimming, Powerlifting, and Bocce.
The Games will be open to the public, as well as the parallel activities accompanying the event:
- Tennis training camp on Monday, May 27, and Tuesday, May 28, from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM & Tennis coaches' seminar on Sunday, May 26, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
- Celebration of the European Special Olympics Football Week 2024 on Tuesday, May 28, from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM and 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
- The "Healthy Athletes" program, lasting three days, from Sunday, May 26 to Tuesday, May 28, from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, which includes five specialties of doctors and health professionals who will provide a series of medical examinations and services, as well as counseling, completely free of charge.
- The "Family Forum" on Sunday, May 26, from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM, an open interactive meeting for the families of the athletes, with presentations from scientists and experts in health and disability.
- Motor Activity Training Program (M.A.T.P.) on Monday, May 27, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, which is a motor skills training program.
- Special Festival - cinema, climbing, crafts, Zumba dancing, and construction activities, providing opportunities for Special Olympics athletes to enjoy themselves during their stay at SPORTCAMP.
It is a great honor to host the Special Olympics Games once again at the SPORTCAMP facilities. The facilities are fully equipped and offer safe and accessible spaces for Special Olympics athletes. Hosting the event at SPORTCAMP demonstrates the center’s dedication to creating an inclusive society where all athletes can achieve their goals and experience victory.
