Ovidio Running Loutraki 2024 event has succesfully concluded—a unique sports event blending athletics and culture, dedicated to the Latin poet Publius Ovidius Naso. The Ovidio Running takes place in locations significant to the poet's life, such as Sulmona, Italy, and Constanța, Romania.
The event was held under the auspices of the Municipality of Loutraki-Perachora-Agioi Theodoroi, with co-organizers SPORTCAMP, Homo Educandus Agogi, and the European project SCORE.
Ovidio Running Loutraki became part of the European project SCORE, which is supported by the ERASMUS+ SPORT program, aiming to develop a sustainable, digital, and inclusive model for sports events, combining exercise with local culture.
The race included three main events: a central 9.9-kilometer race, a 2-kilometer walk, and a mini-race for children up to 15 years old. Participants had the chance to test their endurance, enjoy the beautiful natural scenery of Loutraki, and interact in a friendly and exciting atmosphere.
The opening ceremony took place on Saturday, November 2, at Loutraki's Coastal Park. During the ceremony, the organizers gave speeches highlighting the event's importance and objectives. The evening featured beautiful musical performances by soprano Melina Paschalidou, along with local dance groups that added a special touch with their choreographies, enriching the night with local cultural elements.
Congratulations to all the participants who gave their best and became part of this unique experience!
