Press Release World Masters Volleyball Cup - Loutraki, Greece 2024

The veteran volleyball event, World Masters Volleyball Cup - Loutraki, Greece 2024, concluded on Sunday, August 25th, in a festive atmosphere. The final matches, medal ceremonies, and photo sessions were conducted in a spirit of friendship and enthusiasm, marking the end of a five-day event filled with exciting matches and intense competition.

Throughout these days, participants had the opportunity to enjoy not only the sporting events but also a rich entertainment program. Excursions to nearby areas, with visits to attractions and archaeological sites, enhanced their experience, while the dancing and entertainment evenings offered moments of relaxation and socialization in a pleasant and friendly environment.

Moreover, the participants stayed in hotels in the city of Loutraki, giving them the chance to explore the beauty and attractions of the city, as well as to discover the high-quality dining services that Loutraki offers.

Regarding the competition, the German team dominated the 65+ age category, securing first place, with Ukraine taking second and Sweden third. In the 60+ category, Ukraine claimed the top two positions, while Germany secured third place.

The closing ceremony was attended by Mr. Sakis Papathanasiou, Deputy Mayor of Culture, Sports, Tourism & Youth.

The games were organized with the support of the Municipality of Loutraki-Perachora-Agioi Theodoroi and the Loutraki Tourism Organization.

In collaboration with the Loutraki Tourism Organization, several local businesses offered discounts and services to the participants. Specifically, the partnering businesses included: Loutraki Thermal Spa, Aura All Day Resto Bar, Hobby & Nature, and RIZA Organic Foods.

As a token of appreciation, each athlete received a gift reflecting the local culture and tradition. This included traditional "loukoumia" from the Geraneia Loukoumi Factory in Loutraki and honey from "Greek Honey S.A." in Almyri.

Players and coaches have already marked their calendars for next year, and we eagerly look forward to welcoming them back!
