Ovidio Running is coming to Loutraki on November 5th!

Ovidio Running is the only sports event held in European countries that promotes sports and culture, dedicated to the Latin poet "Publio Ovidio Nasone." The countries where it takes place are significant to the poet's life.

The event is part of the European project Score, a collaborative initiative under the ERASMUS+ SPORT program aiming to develop an organizational model for sports events that is sustainable, digital, inclusive, and linked to cultural elements characteristic of the local area. Ovidio Running includes a 9.9 km race, a 2 km walk, and a mini race for children up to 15 years old. Besides the races, a series of cultural activities will also be held.

In May 2023, the running event started in Constanza, Romania, continued in Sulmona, Italy from September 16 to 17, where SPORTCAMP actively participated in both cities. The last stop for 2023 is the city of Loutraki in Greece.

The event in Loutraki will be held under the auspices of the municipality of Loutraki-Perachora-Agioi Theodoroi and supported by Homo Educandus Agogi, SPORTCAMP, and the European project Score.

It is an exciting event for athletes who wish to test their abilities and fitness levels.

The Ovidio Running-Competitive Race will take place on a flat route along the coastal front of Loutraki, spanning 9.9 kilometers (Waterfalls – Roman Thermal Springs – Loutraki Coastal Front – City Hall – Beach – Engineering School – Poseidonia Submersible Bridge, and back to Loutraki Coastal Park, with a detour on Papanikolaou Street on the return). Participants will run a fast-paced and dynamic race, with electronic timing, and have the chance to win unique prizes and showcase their running skills in a competitive but festive atmosphere.

The Sports Walk at Ovidio Running offers a relaxed and enjoyable way to participate in the event. It takes place on a flat route within the city, extending approximately 2 kilometers, where participants can enjoy a leisurely walk along Loutraki's seaside, just a breath away from the sea. The walk is open to people of all ages and fitness levels, aiming for everyone to participate.

The Kids Run at Ovidio Running is designed to inspire and engage young participants in the joy of running. The route, located in the heart of the coastal front (Waterfalls – Roman Thermal Springs – finish at Loutraki Coastal Park), spans 1 km, providing a fun and supportive environment for young runners to show their enthusiasm and determination.

Saturday, November 4 from 6 PM will be the grand opening ceremony, with the presentation of the event and participation from local clubs and artists offering unique performances.
